In Memory Of

Everette Whitewolf Jr., age 61, of Billings formerly of Lame Deer

June 2, 1960 – January 11, 2022

“Fan of Feathers” “Votonestse”, Everette Whitewolf Jr, 61 of Billings MT, formerly of Lame Deer MT passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 11th, 2022 at his home in Billings MT.
Everette was born June 2nd, 1960 in Pine Ridge, SD. To Everette Whitewolf Sr. and Naomi Clincher. At two years old he came to our family and was raised by John and Cecelia Wooden Legs.
He was an enrolled member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe, and was an active participant in the Native American Church. The teachings he learned, he held close to his heart and carried them throughout his life.
Everette grew up in Lame Deer, MT and attended school at Northern Cheyenne Tribal Schools in Busby, MT and St. Labre Indian Catholic School in Ashland, MT.
Growing up, Everette enjoyed horseback riding, boxing, wrestling, beading, playing basketball, hunting, and really enjoyed “jamming out” to his favorite music. His friends, who knew him as “Tubby”, remember him being a “snazzy dresser” and a “ladies man”.
As an adult, Everette worked in many different fields including construction, welding, and being a mechanic. He married Marie A Burke July 15th, 1983 who he met at Inter-Mountain High School, and they had three children together, Dario Sr, Everon, and Sunshine (his baby girl).
His saving grace were his grandkids. He especially enjoyed his time with Katelynn, Kira, Scarlett, and his great-grand daughter HarmonyRose. He had 14 grand-children and 8 great-grand-children in Arizona and he traveled at least once a year to visit them. He loved to be around his grand-kids and tell them stories. He was such a kind and loving man with a genuine sense of humor, and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Dario Sr, Everon, and Sunshine.
His nieces Donita(Willie), Mary Therese, Faith, Valerie, Kim, Jacque, Jona, Darlene(Kenny), Jennifer, Shawna (Jesse), Josette (Robert), and Michelle(Robert III).
His nephews JoVon(Clare), John Clark(Barbie), James, John De Venerio, and Larry Medicinebull.
His sisters Rosie Doyle of Crow Agency, MT, Rosella Killsnight of Lame Deer, MT, his brother Wilmer(Pheobe) Badyellowhair of Pine Ridge, SD.
He was proceeded in death by his biological parents Everette Whitewolf Sr and Naomi Clincher, his adopted parents John and Cecelia Wooden Legs, sisters Therese Wooden Legs, Darlene Wooden Legs, Zethel Wooden Legs, Anna Joyce Whitewolf, and Gloria Whitewolf, Stephana Whitewolf-Flores, Freda Badyellowhair, Delia Bear Robe, and Gerty Henry. His brothers John Joseph Wooden Legs, Patrick Wooden Legs, Harvey Wooden Legs, John Wooden Legs JR, Max Wooden Legs, Russell De Venerio, Timothy and Lyman Badyellowhair, and Moses Fast Horse, and his Niece Terri Rose Wooden Legs

Extended families include Wooden Legs, Little Eagle, Small, Twobulls, Killsnight, Badyellowhair, Bear Robe, Flores, and Fast Horse. We apologize to anyone we may have left out; as he has an exceptionally large family.
