Faye Ellen Verley, 51, of Helena passed away Friday evening , June 25, 2010 at St. Peters Hospital.
She was born in Superior, Montana on January 4, 1959. She was the youngest child of Everett and Ruth Verley. Faye grew up on a ranch near Superior, where she discovered her passion for horses. She continued her love of horses in her adult life and instilled into her children the love and respect for these animals that meant so much to her. Faye met Steve Tennant in Seattle and together they started their journey to raise a family. Their first son, Kole was born in Renton and was a year old when they moved to Helena in 1992. Sons, Kyle and Kaleb were born in Helena where the family has made their home for nearly 20 years. Steves two children from a previous marriage, Felicia and Steven, joined the family shortly after the move to Helena. The completion of the family was in 2002, when Boofer (Taylor) joined the family at 3 months of age. She raised him as her own. She leaves behind a best friend of over 30 years, Floyd Julian, who was like a second dad to her children. He stood by her through everything and had always been there for her when she needed him.Faye was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Everett Verley and her grandparents, John and Lena Cusick and Mary Pearl and Alfred Verley. She recently lost her favorite uncle, John Cusick, whom she loved as she would a grandfather.
She is survived by her immediate family, husband, Steve Tennant; her children, Kole, Kyle, Kaleb and Taylor (Boofer), Felicia and Steven all of Helena; lifelong friend, Floyd Julian of Craig ; her parents, Everett and Ruth Verley of Helena; Siblings, Edith Witham (Bob) of Helena, Ken (Kathy) Verley of Missoula and Sandra (Edwin) Getz of Wisconsin. Faye has a large family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends who all had a special place in Fayes heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family will be receiving friends Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2010 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Chapel, 650 Logan St., Helena, with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. A reception will follow at the First Lutheran Church, 2231 Broadway. The family requests donations to be sent in Fayes name to the Bank of the Rockies, 2000 Prospect Ave., Helena, MT 59601.
