Florence W. (Pembroke) ChaboFlorence (Tootie) entered this world the first of twins born to Art & Sally Pembroke on July 12, 1936 in Miles City, MT. She passed away at her home in Edgewood, WA on February 24, 2006 after a valiant year long battle with cancer.
Florence attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Glendive High in 1955, she traveled around a bit from Alaska to Illinois and in 1960 moved back to Miles City. Florence worked for a time at the 600 Cafe, then began her career in the banking business at the 1st National Bank. While working in Miles City she met Robert (Bob) Chabo and the two were married in December 1963. During the time that Bob spent in Viet Nam Florence lived and worked in Wyoming, upon his return they settled in Puyallup, WA where they remained. In Washington she was manager of two Wells Fargo Banks, retiring in 1995.Getting restless after retiring Florence went to work part-time for Dr. Estelle Yamaki. She loved her work and continued until the time of her death.
Florence is survived by her loving family: Husband Bob; son Max (Jan) Chabo; daughter Valerie (Bruce) ONeal; grandson Maxie ONeal and granddaughter Caitlin ONeal, all of Edgewood, WA. Also her brothers and sisters: Harold (Val) Pembroke, Helena; Robert Pembroke, Mount Pleasant, MI; Kay Cridland, Sand Point, ID; Mary Graham, Helena; Bunny (Rich) Nunberg, Wibaux; several nieces, nephews and an abundance of dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Lawrence, and her mother and father, Sally and Art Pembroke.Cremation and a memorial service took place in Edgewood, WA.
It was Florences wish to be buried with her twin brother, near her parents. Therefore the family will gather at Calvary Cemetery in Miles City for a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2006. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
