Florence Yablonski, age 81, of Miles City passed away at her daughters home in Miles City on September 8, 2005 surrounded by her family and faithful dog Bubba.
Florence was born on December 21, 1923 in Westmore, MT the daughter of Edwin and Lorna Martha Ernestina (Kudick) Freier. She attended several schools in southeastern Montana communities following her fathers railroad career. She graduated from Rosebud High School and on January 5, 1945, Florence and Bernard Joseph Yablonski were married. Together they raised a family of three sons and one daughter in and around the Forsyth area. Florence was employed as a railroad telegrapher in Montana and North Dakota before serving as the postmaster in Sumatra, Montana for 15 years. She owned and operated a caf in Hysham, MT and supervised the 4-H food booth in Forsyth, MT. Florence spent many years in child care for family and friends and was a hostess for the Drop-In-Center.
Some of Florences special memories include visiting with her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel and enjoyed her trip to the Bahamas. She traveled the United States to California, Wisconsin, Arizona, Missouri and Washington to visit family. Florence was an excellent baker, being a Champion Pie Winner at Womens Week and making spud-nuts at Sumatra for ballgames. Florence enjoyed her 80th birthday party, being around so many family and friends. Her life was filled with her baking, gardening and flowers, Cards, Bingo, Yahtzee, bowling, dances and giving love and support to her family. She had a special interest in family genealogy. Florence was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, 4H Leader, Custer County Extension Homemaker member, Range Riders Rep Member, and a member of the Rebekahs.
Florence is survived by her sons; Robert (Shirley) Yablonski of Trabuco, Canyon, CA, Donald (Phyllis) Yablonski of Yuma, AZ, Duane Yablonski of Forsyth, MT, daughter Gayle (Steven) Muggli of Miles City, MT, siblings; Eleanor (John) Neurohr of Miles City, Shirley Neuman of Miles City, MT, Agnes Comstock of Kansas City, MO, Robert (Norma) Freier, of Kent WA, Harold (Barbara) Freier of Billings, MT, a special friend Patty Kroll of Helena, MT, seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Bernard Yablonski.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2005 with the family to receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Miles City. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 3:00 pm at the Forsyth Cemetery in Forsyth, MT.If friends desire, memorials may be made to the family of Florence Yablonski to help local families with kidney diseases or to the charity of one's choice.
