Forrest was very involved in the Cheyenne Language at Chief Dull Knife college attending full time and was Student President. Carrying high honors and excelling academically on the Dean’s List. He received his certificate in Mathematics and changed his major to Linguistics to carry on the Cheyenne Language. That was his Passion. He traveled with Dull knife college attending NASA Goddard Space Flight Center receiving his Rocket Certificates. As well as traveling to Washington D.C. with AIHEC. We were all so proud of him achieving his goal to Graduate from Chief Dull Knife College on May, 21st 2019

Forrest loved his Grass Dance, and Beadwork.  He participated in the Peyote Meetings while he was younger. He attended sweats and was dedicated to the Ceremonial Circle. He was a member of the Kit Fox Society as the Doorman. He pledged to Sundance this summer. Getting ready and gathering what he all needed. Forrest also Loved to fish and hunt. Providing for his families and got his first Muley buck in the Wolf Mountains, Which he was very proud of.

Forrest was a very Loving and caring young man. He showed compassion for everyone he knew.  Forrest was engage to Alta Deputy,  had 3 children Carlisle, Ambrosia and Patricia Grace and also took in as his own children Calynn and Myers. His love for his kids was never ending. He showed so much Love to his nieces and nephews. Often acting like he was still young and making many memories that they will cherish Forever.

He was always Teasing and joking with everybody who knew him. He was a very hard worker making sure things were done and willing to help anybody in need. He had Encouraging and uplifting words if you were down.

He would often sing and dance while he was younger anywhere in the village having his cousins sing for him. Often hanging out along the Tongue River, leading all the rats to the swimming hole.

He had many friends and families that took him in including the Sonntag’s and stayed with his adopted father Dominic Little Shield in Beaver Creek Housings, south of Riverton on the Wind River Reservation. Staying and checking up on Grandma Bena. She often called him her Lil Husband.

He struggled and fought to live a positive life leaving us behind while he was not in his rightful mind. Like many of our tribal members who also struggled with addictions. He turned his life around and chose to go back to school. Forrest will be Greatly Missed by all who knew him.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I find so much comfort in the Bible’s promise of a resurrection mentioned at Acts 24:15. What a wonderful time we have to look forward to when we will be able to welcome our dear loved ones again. Until then, rest assured that God sees the pain you are experiencing and wants to comfort you. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4. Please accept my sincere condolences.

I won’t forget Forrest’s part as a pirate in the Missoula Children’s theater. His lines were only letters, and the audience loved his enthusiasm. The best part was his solo in a song where he would step in and sing “A-E-I-O-U” while twisting and pointing. It was hilarious.
