Frances Genevieve Clark, age 95, died quietly at her home inMiles City on May 7, 2006. She was with her family.
Frances was born in Everett, Washington on August 5, 1910, to Fred and Catherine (McLaughlin) Wilson. After her father died, her mother married Jack Reid in 1920. Frances attended grade school in Jordan and graduated from business college in Miles City. Frances was married to Samuel Timothy Clark in 1934 by Monsignor Hennessy at Sacred Heart Church.Her first job was at the Star Printing Company. During World War II, she worked at Lockheed Aircraft in Los Angeles. She later worked at the womens clothing stores; Epsteins, The Specialty Shop and Sweetbriar Store. Frances was active throughout her life in the Sacred Heart Church. She belonged to AltarSociety, St. Josephs Circle and served as a Eucharistic Minister, both in church and to the homebound. After retirement, she volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul. Frances was a member of the VFW Womens Auxiliary and served as a President. She volunteered for many years at the VA Hospital. She was Girl Scout Leader, and a volunteer at RSVP, the Food Bank, and the Red Cross Blood Bank.
Frances is survived by her sister, Cassie Reid, and brother, Ray Reid, both of Miles City, and her sisters-in-law, Margaret Clark of Miles City, and Olive Lockie of Billings, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, and sisters and brother, Louise Reid Rehbein, Annie Reid Casey, and Jack Reid.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 8, 2006 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home with a Vigil services at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church in Miles City. Rite of Committal will follow in the family lot of the Calvary Cemetery.
