Francis Ausk

Funeral Service: Saturday, at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry

Interment: will be held at a later date at the Fairview Cemetery in Fairview

Francis Harvey Ausk, 84, of Terry, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 at the Prairie Community MAF with his family at his side.

Cremation has taken place.

Francis Harvey Ausk was born on March 16, 1919 to Clifford and Alma (Johnson) Ausk in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. He attended school in Fairview and graduated from Fairview High School in 1938. Francis married Sybil Elletson on Oct. 21, 1939 in Fairview. They celebrated their 64th anniversary on Tuesday. Francis joined the U.S. Navy in March 1944. He served in WWII and was honorably discharged in December 1945. Francis worked for Great Northern Railroad before serving in the Navy and again after being discharged from the Navy. He later worked construction projects, mostly as a crane operator. He and Sybil moved to Terry in 1974 when Francis was worked on the construction of the interstate bridges at Fallon. Following his retirement, he worked for the City of Terry.

Francis was a member of the Terry Community Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post #32 in Terry and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 400. He served on the Terry City Council. Francis had many friends. He enjoyed having coffee with the guys, and he was always up for playing cards or cribbage. He was a dedicated fan of the Terry Terriers. Francis most loved the time spent with his family. He never missed an event his Montana grandchildren participated in.

He is survived by his wife Sybil of Terry; a son, Jim and wife Jo, also of Terry; six grandchildren and their spouses, David McKinney, Tom and Amelia McKinney, Mike and Sheryl McKinney, and Raylene and Dennis Crider, all of California, Jamie and Richie Crisafulli of Glendive, and Brandon and Karlee Ausk of Seattle, Wash. and nine great grandchildren: JR and Jake McKinney, Raymond and Michael McKinney, Jessica and Raychel Crider, and Jameson, Nelson and Basil Crisafulli. He is also survived by two sisters, Janis (Oscar) Dean and June OConner, both of Bozeman; and his brother- and sisters-in-law, Perry and Lil Elletson of Cartwright, N.D.; Lois McChesney and Delores Elletson of Sidney, and Jeannine Elletson of Billings.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James; and his daughter, Arlene, in 1991.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Terry Community Presbyterian Church with Pastor Leon Rathbun officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, MT. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.
