Frank Joseph Deveny, age 56, died unexpectedly at his home on May 19, 2007.
Frank was born in Miles City, Montana on February 8, 1951 to Dan and Lavina Deveny of Sanders, Montana. He graduated from Hysham High School in 1969 and received a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Agronomy from MSU-Bozeman.In 1975 he married Peggy Shiroishi and they made their home at Sanders, Montana where Frank and Peggy farmed and ranched at the Deveny family homestead.
Frank is survived by his wife Peggy of Sanders; son Bill of Sanders; daughters Adele (Tup) Swaim of Helena, and Jackie Deveny of Missoula; a sister Patricia Deveny of Washington D.C; brothers Dan R. (Sandy) Deveny of Winnemucca, Nevada, and Tom Deveny and friend Kathy Knudsen of Missoula; a sister Christine Deveny (Ken Knudson) of Helena; and niece Laura (Jomar) Ochoco of St. Paul, Minnesota. Additional survivors include aunts Marie Hansen, Marcella Feeley, Doretta Flynn, and Jackie Zent, and uncle Hod ODonnell, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Lavina Deveny.
Frank was an active member of the Hysham Lions Club and with the restoration and upkeep of the Sanders Community Hall. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, visiting, joking, and teasing. It wasn't uncommon for Frank to invite friends and visitors for a meal or drinks, and a good line of BS.
