Frank Whiteman Jr. (Homa'nestotse "Howling Beaver"), 72 of Lame Deer started his journey to the spirit world where Mahe'o, his parents, brothers, sisters, daughter Julia, son Franklin Sr, and Family greeted him.

In the early morning hours on Thursday, November 18, 2010 our father Frank Whiteman Jr. went on his journey to be with our creator Mahe'o. He was born December 14, 1939 in a log cabin near Lame Deer Creek to Frank and Emma Lightning Whiteman Sr. He grew up in Lame Deer and attended Lame Deer Elementary school. He was known for his nicknames Aroma and Junior Whiteman Junior giving to him by his oldest daughter Janice. In his younger years he enjoyed Riding Horses, Singing for Powwows, peyote meetings and Sundances with his brothers Harvey, Phillip, Grover and John, Robert Whiteman. He would always sing his journey song for family members when they had passed. He would enjoy picking sugar beats in Forsyth with his parents. As he grew older he worked for the Pine Cone factory in Lame Deer. He did ranch work and was also a seasonal Firefighter in Lame Deer. He would make jewelry out of Pipestone and enjoyed making Arrow heads along with many Spears. He married Victoria Wounded in 1960 to this union they had 8 children. He was a loving, caring father and friend to everyone. He was a awesome cook who would make the best breads and traditional soups. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren who always brought a smile to his face. Now he is looking down on us with much love and happiness. He is in the best place now away from pain and suffering, and we will miss him. But remember we shall meet again.
