Franklin D. Samuelson, age 76, of Miles City passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at his home in Miles City.
Frank was born on March 4, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Henry and Nellie (Regan) Samuelson. He moved to Miles City as a young child and attended schools in Miles City and graduated from Custer County District High School. He started painting with his father. In his early years, Frank was a member of the National Guard. He married Darlene J. Stabler on July 12, 1953 in Miles City, Montana. In 1957, they moved to Seattle where they lived for over 20 years until 1977 when they moved back to Miles City. In 1982, they moved to Prescott, Arizona and he worked for Yavapai College until 1997 when they moved back to Miles City. Frank loved to paint buildings, make furniture, read and dancing.
Frank is survived by a son, Robert Samuelson of Seattle, WA; two daughters: Charice (Terry) Virag of Miles City, MT; and Val Abasolo of Miles City, MT; a sister, Dorothy Kimball of Billings, MT; four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Darlene, and a brother Robert.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com. Should friends
