Freeda Sackman, age 93, of Terry passed away on Friday, September 5, 2003 at D & D Home Plus in Terry.

Freeda was born on August 22, 1910, at Fallon, Montana, the daughter of Johannes and Christina (Schmeid) Sackmann. She was the youngest one in a family of 15. She attended a small country school a quarter of a mile from her home through the 8th grade. By the time she was 10 years old all her brothers and sisters were married with the exception of two. So she had to help with the fieldwork and the farm chores.

On December 9, 1938, Freeda and Fred Sackman were married at Plevna, Montana. They farmed and ranched together on the Fallon Flat until 1983 when they retired. They remained on the farm until January 1990 when they moved to Terry where they resided until June 2002. They have one daughter, Arlene.

Freeda devoted her later years to her grandchildren and great grandchildren by attending their church, school, and community activities. She also enjoyed visiting with family, friends, and relatives and doing craft projects. She loved to have her family near and enjoyed preparing meals for them.

Freeda is survived by her daughter, Arlene Morast and her husband Jerry of Fallon, MT; three grandchildren: Brian and Sheryl Morast of Fallon, MT; Brenda and Klint Flint of Baker, MT; and Bruce Morast of Gladstone, ND; five great grandchildren: Ashley, Alyssa, Aaron and Neissa Morast and Konner Flint; numerous nieces and nephews; and her loving and caring personal care family: Dan, Dawnya, Micah and Shawnee Kirkpatrick.

Freeda was preceded in death by her husband Fred in June of 2002, her parents, and all of her brothers and sisters.
