Gary L. Schara, age 77, of Circle passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the McCone County Health Center in Circle, MT with his wife at his side.
Gary was born April 4, 1937 in Circle, MT the son of William & Fern (Madson) Schara. He grew up on the family farm. He attended grade school in Circle and graduated from high school in 1955. After graduation he went to California for a short period of time, before returning to Circle where he began working for Shennum Construction. He married Lorraine Haber on May 10, 1959 in Circle, MT, together they had two children Vicky Schara and Brenda Foley.
Gary and Lorraine moved to Glendive where Gary began working for the Montana State Highway Department for thirty years. Upon retiring they moved back to Circle where Gary began farming.
Gary is survived by his wife, Lorraine Schara of Circle; two daughters, Vicky Schara of New York, NY, Brenda (Scott) Foley of Bismarck, ND; one sister, Kathy (Leonard) Kuntz of Circle, MT; two grandchildren, Lindsey & Lauren Foley and three nieces.
Family will receive friends on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Circle, MT. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Circle. Interment with full military honors will follow at the Riverview Cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Circle is in charge of the arrangements.
