He went to country school north of Circle and later years he attended a welding course a Hanson Mechanical Trade School in Fargo. He was baptized and confirmed at the 1st Lutheran Church of Circle. He farmed his young years with his brother Bill and their dad. He met Marlene in Fargo and they married in September of 1956. He also worked winter months at Circle Ford Garage and for Kent Larson Body Shop in Circle and did some wheat hauling for local farmers. He has been farming with his son and wife since 1970. Garys family played a lot of cards at home starting when they were all young kids. He enjoyed snowmobiling with neighbor Delano and his brothers-in-law Bruce andGordy and his son Rocki for coyote and fox hunting. He enjoyed playing pool and having a beer and playing pinochle uptown with his friends. In later years he just enjoyed staying home, farming, spending time with his family, watching Jacob grow up and the ever loving TV remote control and hand held game gadgets. Another enjoyment for Gary was in the later years, neighbors Delano, Delbert, Harvard Sell and Roland Peterson and the kids would combine together. Harvard was the oldest and he didn't have a cab on his machine.
