On January 11, 2015 at approximately 2:30 A.M. Gayle passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the family home in Ramsey, Minnesota. Gayle was comforted by family members at the time of her passing into heaven.

Gayle (Baker) Lapp was born on August 13, 1949 in the Billings, Montana. She was the daughter of Louis and Hester (Logan) Baker. Gayle was married to Terry Lapp on July 13, 1971 in Idaho while residing in Glendive, Montana. Gayle and Terry lived in Glendive, Montana before moving to Lincoln, Nebraska where Gayle raised her two sons and provided home health care services to several families in the Lincoln area. In 1991 Gayle, Terry and the two sons relocated to Hawley, Minnesota before returning back to Glendive, Montana.

While living in Glendive, Gayle enjoyed volunteering at Makoshika State Park and the Gallery. Gayle enjoyed her friendships and meeting new people. Gayle was a professional socializer and always held her friends close to her heart. One of Gayle’s most cherished accomplishments was caring for Dr. Chamber’s at his home until his passing. Gayle was an active member of the Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her three grandchildren and watching them grow. Gayle was known as a giver and loved helping anybody in need. She was a loving person to her family and friends; she will be missed by those she left behind.

Gayle was preceded in death by her father and mother Louis Baker and Hester (Logan) Baker. Gayle is survived by her husband Terry Lapp; her two sons Ross (Jessie) Lapp and Russell (Colleen) Lapp; her grandchildren Samantha, Jesse, and Evelyn “Buster” Lapp; her brothers Bob Baker, and Leon Baker and sisters Juanita Dellos, Betty Roehl, and Joyce Barstad.

A special thanks to Gayle’s health care team at Mercy Virginia Piper Cancer Institute and the Allina Hospice staff in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City, Montana, Members of the Minneapolis Police Weapons unit, University of Minnesota Police department, and the Medora Police department for your continued family support throughout Gayle’s battle with cancer (Una Stamus). Jim and I extend our heart-felt sympathy to Gayles’ family and friends. Gayle was one of those unique people who put everyone else’s happiness and needs ahead of her own. She put her whole heart into helping. A shining light has been removed from our worldly space. However, the angels in heaven have gained a special lady who, I’m sure, is busy volunteering in heaven. God Speed Gayle….RIP
