Geoffrey Geoff Andy Red Eagle, age 40, of Poplar, Montana passed away Friday, October 26, 2007 at Poplar Community Hospital.
Geoff was born November 27, 1966 at Tyndall Air force Base, Panama City, Florida to Gary Red Eagle Sr. and Georgia Ann (Wakan) Red Eagle. He carries the Indian name Red Eagle Flying.
He was a graduate from Poplar High school in 1985 where he played basketball, a graduate of Ft. Peck Community College in 1994 with a AA degree in General Studies, also graduated with a Para-Professional Degree in education in 1999, and worked as a teachers aide at Poplar Middle School for ten years 1996 until 2006.His hobbies included listening to Indian Music, Pow-Wow Songs, and was an avid beader using the loom to make lighter holders, key chains, and grass dance outfits. He loved spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Georgia Ann (Wakan) Red Eagle; four brothers Gary Red Eagle, Jr., George Red Eagle, Gerred Red Eagle, and Baby Harold Red Eagle, Jr.; two sisters, Georell and Genine Red Eagle; his longtime companion and special friend, Jolene Miller; uncles, Charles Wakan of Lewistown, MT, Dale and John Youpee of Poplar, Willard Dean Terry Youpee of Browning, MT, Coma Roy PeeWee Youpee of California, Merle Boyd Tanna Youpee of Oregon and Abe Chopper of Poplar; aunties, Reba, Gloria Garcia of Sanosa, CA, Betty Black Dog and Doreen Red Eagle, Pauline Boxer, JoAnne Browning all of Poplar, and Ilona Jo Wilson of Wolf Point, MT; grandpa, Mike Youngman, Sr.; grandmas, Rita Long Chase and Florence Wospi Eagleman, Loraine Stormy, Faye Peterson, Myrna Charbonneau; nephews, Tolley Red Eagle and Emery Squirrell Red Eagle, Skyler and Jesse red Eagle, Jermey St. Germaine, Travis Black Thunder; nieces, La Verne Gummi White Bear, Dorell and Donelle Black Thunder and Ann St. Germaine, and Faith Red Eagle whom he loved dearly; his grandson, Joseph Ray Red Eagle whom he helped raise and loved very much; his granddaughters, E marie and Gerra Ann Red Eagle who brightened his days.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Red Eagle, Sr., paternal grandparents Elmer and Mary Red Eagle and maternal grandparents Josephine Youngman and Jesse Wakan.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 2, 2007 at the Poplar Cultural Center starting at 4:00 p.m. with a Prayer service at 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Service be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow at Ft. Kipp Cemetery.
