Georga Jayne Fluss Johnson, age 63, of Terry, MT passed away with her family by her side, on October 28, 2010 at Billings Clinic in Billings.
Georga was born on September 16, 1947 in Miles City, MT, the daughter of Jay and M. Lucille (Barber) Fluss. She grew up on the G ranch south of Terry and attended school in Terry. In the country there were always chores to do, but she found time to enjoy the animals and horseback riding. She played saxophone in the band and enjoyed going to her brothers basketball games. She always looked up to her sister and treasured their friendship. After graduating from Terry High School in 1965, Georga attended Humboldt Institute in Minneapolis where she received airline and secretarial training. In 1966 she worked for National Airlines in New York City along with a two month trip to Europe where she celebrated her 22nd birthday. In 1967 she worked as a secretary for Continental Can Company in Minneapolis. Two years later she moved to Denver, CO where she worked for Tempco, Inc. She then returned to Minneapolis to work for Mutual of Omaha and Robb, Van Eps and Gilmore-Attorneys at Law. While in Minnesota, she met her soul mate Ronald Johnson and they later married on April 30, 1971 in Taylors Falls, MN. They welcomed their first child Melissa in 1973. In 1974 they moved to Miles City and in 1976 to Terry. Their son Jay arrived in 1977. After spending many years home with her children, she worked at the Terry Post Office for 18 years.One of Georgas passions was genealogy. She always cherished lifes simple pleasuresher flower garden, watching the birds outside her window and especially a good visit and a laugh with a friend. She had such a sweet voice and she would always take the time to listen. More than anything, she had an amazing passion and love for her family. When she talked about her grandkids Maddie and Ben, her eyes would sparkle. We feel so very blessed to have been adored and loved by such a beautiful woman.
Georga is survived by her husband Ronald Johnson of Terry MT; a daughter, Melissa (Barry) Ehlert of Mead, WA; a son Jay (Molly) Johnson of Chandler, AZ; a sister Lucille (Andy) Anderson of Coeur d Alene, ID; a brother Sherm (Sharon) Fluss of Terry, MT; and two grandchildren Madeline and Benjamin Ehlert. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry. Interment will follow in Prairie County Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
