In Memory Of

George Feisthamel, Jr., 89, of Colstrip

November 28, 1926 – March 3, 2016

Goerge John Feisthamel, Jr. died on March 3, 2016 in the nursing home in Forsyth. He was 89 at the time of his death. He had Vicki Pantoja and Robin Sterret by his side.

George was born November 28, 1926 in Billings to George & Minnie Feisthamel. He had two sisters, Anna Mae and Marget, and a brother, Joey.

He joined the Navy on March 1, 1944 and served in World War II. He was so excited when his granddaughter Natasha got him on the honor flight to Washington D.C. This was a trip of a life time for him.

He had a great talent when it came to woodworking. He made a lot of furniture and did great personal touches in many homes. George loved fishing, hunting and 4-wheeling with his son Randy. He had tears in his eyes when Randy shot a prize elk with the gun George gave him.

George loved his trips to Portland every year to visit with his daughter Lynda and family. Megan, Anna, and George celebrated their birthdays together. George was proud of his family.

He was preceded in death by his father George, mother Minnie, brother Joey, sister Marget, and sons Richard and Ricky.

George is survived by his daughter Lynda (Ralph) Wright, son Randy (Georgia) Feisthamel, Sister Anna Mae, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 19, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Colstrip. Full Military Honors will be held following the services. Donation can be made to the Lutheran Youth Group, PO Box 218, Colstrip, MT 59323.

May your family and friends find comfort in God’s promise to “swallow up death forever… and wipe away the tears from all faces” (Isaiah 25:8). Along with the promise of a time soon when “death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4. Remember the hope of “a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous” (Acts 24:15). My sincere condolences to your family.

    March 4, 2016 at 5:53 pm

George was so many things to the Brattin family for nearly 32 years that they are too numerous to mention, but friend, mentor, helper, and listener would be at the top of that list. Our treasured friend is with the Lord and for that we give thanks. Our prayers are with all of the family in this time of great loss.
