In Memory Of

Gerald Adolph Tallent, age 75, of Forsyth

November 29, 1949 – February 19, 2025

Gerald Adolph Tallent

On February 19, 2025, Gerald “Gerry” Adolph Tallent passed away peacefully after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Gerald was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his passing. Gerald was 75 years old.

Gerald was born in Sheridan Wyoming on November 29, 1949. He was the middle child of Adolph and Lorraine Tallent.

Gerald grew up in Forsyth Montana and graduated from Forsyth High School. He joined the Navy in 1970.  Gerald met the love of his life Jayne on a blind date in San Diego California in 1971.  They were married in 1972 in Guam and spent 3 wonderful years there. After Gerald was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1974, he and Jayne moved to Colorado for two weeks then settled in Forsyth.  Gerry worked for a few years at the mine before hiring on with BNSF Railroad where he worked until retiring in 2007.  After Jayne’s passing in 2019 he met his second love Sandra Rader and renewed his relationship with Christ at Rosebud Community Chapel.

Gerald had a deep love for family and friends. He was passionate about hunting, fishing and gardening.  He always had a smile for everyone.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Lorraine Tallent and his wife Betty Jayne (Laughlin) Tallent.

Gerald is survived by his siblings Barbara Cole and David Tallent; children Robert (Shannon) Tallent and Carolina (Justin) Hanley; grandchildren Adam Mansfield, Michelle Tallent and Emily Mansfield.

As per Gerald’s wishes a service will be held sometime in the spring/summer.

    Robert and family,
Your father was one of the nicest men I have ever known. His smile abundantly demonstrated his love for you all and Jayne. I knew him my whole like and I still fondly remember you all coming over when we were kids and spending time together. I was told by my mom that our dads met in 2nd grade, their friendship endured and I know that my dad thought the world of him. He and your mom will always hold a special place in my heart, which is breaking for you all right now. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
