Gerald Jack Gentry, 81 of Helena passed away April 16, 2010 at St. Peters Hospital.

He was born May 30, 1928 in Helena to Ira Lee and Mary Emma (Hembry) Gentry. Jack attended Helena schools and graduated from Helena High School in 1946. He entered the United States Navy in 1948, was honorably discharged in 1952 and entered the United States Navy Reserves following his discharge. Jack was a machinist with Caird Machine Works in Helena from 1952 to 1985 when he retired. Jack loved the outdoors. His many hobbies included fishing, hunting, and horse racing and training.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Bea, Bert, David, Irene, and Doris. He is survived by a stepson, Ray Dunn of Hoodsport, WA; numerous nieces and nephews, and several grieving pets.
