Gerald Milton Peterson, age 77, of Terry passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2010 in Terry.

Gerald was born January 14, 1933 to Milton and Lenore (Bomstad) Peterson in Willmar, Minnesota. Gerald attended school in the Willmar area. After his schooling he worked at the Bomstad family farm until his enlistment in the Army June 2, 1953. He was a cannoneer assigned to the "C" Battery 19th Field Artillary Battalion. After boot camp and other training he was stationed in Germany for the remainder of his enlistment, which was until May 2, 1955, where he was honorably discharged as a Private First Class (E-3) during the Korean War. After his discharge he worked for a utility company and worked on power lines for 2 years around Vernal, Utah. He then found work as a truck driver for Dunich construction. He married Erma Stevenson in 1982 and they moved to Paynesville, Minnesota for two years and then returned to Terry, Montana and they were later divorced in 1985. Gerald then worked for Kuck construction, Empire Sand and Gravel and Prince Construction until his retirement in 1998. He remained in the Terry area until his death. Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing, being with family and friends and taking care of his dog Sally. He was an American Legion and V.F.W. member. He had a heart of gold and was a blessing to all that knew him or briefly met him. He was a blue collared worker who would root for the underdog, give the shirt off his back to a friend in need and as hone'st as they come. He enjoyed life and brought happiness to others. He was a great father and was the rock for his family. He was
preceded in death by his father Milton Peterson and mother Lenore (Bomstad)
Peterson and Erma Stevenson.

He is survived by his sister Marcy (Charles) Berg of Coon Rapids, MN; Step son Charles (Julie) Stevenson of Goodyear, AZ; Step Daughters: Cheryl Stevenson (Larry Helminick) of Fort Knox, KY; Lorie Stevenson of Fort Knox, KY; Pam Stevenson of Hugo, OK; and Shirley (Jeff) Linder of Fort Knox, KY.
