In Memory Of

Gerald Quinlan, age 76, of Forsyth

July 21, 1945 – October 8, 2021

On the evening of October 8, 2021 at the age of 76 Jerry passed away in his sleep. He was born on July 21, 1945 the son of Arden and Mamie Carol Lende Quinlan in Forsyth, Montana. He grew up in the Forsyth area his entire life and graduated from Sumatra High School in 1964. Jerry joined the Army in 1967 serving in Germany and discharged in 1969.

On March 28, 1970 he and Elaine Wolff were married in Forsyth, Montana. To this union three children were born Audrey, Carol and Shawn.

Jerry worked at Colstrip briefly during the build of Power Plant 1&2. After that he started ranching. He enjoyed working with livestock preferably Hereford. Later transitioning to Black Angus retiring in 2018, due to ill health.

He was an avid Montana Griz and Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved his country and a die hard TRUMP supporter!! When younger he loved hunting, fishing and camping at the Boulder. He was very involved in his kids and grandkids lives. First by coaching his kids (despite their objections 😊) and then by attending all grandkids sporting events no matter the driving distance. Family was important, but his true loves were his dog, George and cat, Satan.

Jerry was preceded in death by his Dad Arden, Uncles Howard, Joe, Robert and Marvin and Aunts Josie and Marie; mother-in-law Ruby and father-in-law Richard.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, his mother, Carol and his three children Audrey (Moe), Carol (Howard) and Shawn along with their families. Grandchildren Alayna, Chloe, Jase, Arber, Emma, Jayden and one great grandson, Darius. He is also survived by his Uncle Donald, Aunt Ginger, Aunt JoAnn, Aunt Merry and Aunt Georgia Quinlan, Aunt Jeri Kreider and numerous cousins.

Elaine, Carol, Audrey, Shawn, Mama Carol & family-
Heaven… the bible describes it beautifully, and God’s angels escorted Jerry there. Even though Jerry’s departure was unexpected and you will miss him, the comfort has to come from knowing you will be together again. Your memories will keep him alive in your hearts until then. May God bless each of you and bring you comfort during this difficult time. Our hearts hurt for you and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
