Gerald Ezra Stewart, age 90, of Miles City passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at his home in Miles City.
Gerald was born in Bottineau, North Dakota on November 17, 1916, the son of William and Mary (Trent) Stewart. Gerald attended school in Bottineau, North Dakota until he was a sophomore and then went to work on the family farm. In 1939, he met and married Dolly Selk. The two then moved to Laurel Montana in 1955 where he worked for Northern Tankline until 1963 when they moved to Miles City. Gerald opened the first A & Win Miles City in1963
Gerald enjoyed woodworking, horses, and spending time with his family. Gerald was a past member of the Chamber of Commerce, Past Master of the Masonic Lodge, Past President of the Kiwanis Club, Toastmasters, and was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Geraldmade a trip to Alaska and back via motorcycle when he was 66 years old with his wife Dolly.
Gerald is survived by seven children: Darlene Dyer of Port Townsend WA, Sharon Altimus(Glenn)of Billings MT, Gloria Gehoski (Mark)of Custer MT, Gerilyn Muggli (Ray) of Miles City, Terry Stewart (Ginny) of Bozeman MT, Glen Stewart (Leanne) of Miles City, Gwen Johnson (Dick) of Casper WY, twenty two grandchildren and twenty seven greatgrand children. A sister, Lois Rice of Las Vegas, NV, and his best friend and companion, Bernice Cottom of Miles City.
He was preceded in death by Gloria (Dolly) Stewart in 1992.
