In Memory Of

Gerald Young

Wake: 7 p.m. Monday, May 9, at the Poplar Cultural Center.

Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, at the Poplar Cultural Center.

Interment: will follow at the Poplar City Cemetery.

Our beloved Gerald Ryan Young, age 30, of Poplar, MT left us so suddenly on May 1, 2011 at the Poplar Hospital in Poplar. The Lord seen his pain and suffering and took him in with open arms, loving, and forgiving him.

He was born on February 11, 1981 in Poplar to Julia Young and Vernon Birdsbill. Gerald was well known for his kindness and had many friends. Although his mother Julia married and divorced Floyd Chubby Comes Last in 1981; Chubby took Gerald as his own and was involved in his life until his passing in 2003. Lavern Loves Him helped raise Gerald and Cody Eagleman was a true brother.Gerald went to school in Poplar and Wahpeton, ND. In 1999, he met DeRae Wounded Face and they had 3 beautiful girls together. Gerald also had a son, Nathanial, who he loved and kept in contact with. His children were his world.

He is survived by his mother, Julia Young of Poplar; father, Vernon Birdsbill of Wolf Point, MT; grandmothers, Yvette Todd and Margaret Hapa of Poplar; grandfather, Mickey Gabriel and Thelma Young of Poplar; daughters, DeRyen, Brooklyn, and Mystic Young all of Poplar; son, Nathanial Curley of Billings, MT; sisters, Ronalee and Sandra Carpentier both of Poplar; brothers, James Garcia and Robert Carpentier both of Poplar; uncles, Verdell (Barbara) Birdsbill and family of Wolf Point, Ken Olson Sr., Levi Olson Sr., Keith Olson Sr., Lester Menz, Curtis Allen Menz Sr., Robert Olson and Irvin Olson all of Poplar; aunt, Jonelle Menz of Fort Totten, ND; his adopted family, mother, Doremis Eagleboy, brothers and sisters whom he was very close to, Dave & Jodee Scott, J.J. & Liz Chase, John McClammy, Paul Lee and Suzie Kohl all of Poplar; favorite neice, Ariel Carpentier of Poplar; nephews, Wacey & Wes Greybull, and Ronald Fasthorse all of Poplar.Gerald went to join niece, Charlynn Capentier; brothers and sisters, David & Dorothy Carpentier; grandparents, Loverty & Charlie Birdsbill, Raquel Menz, and Jennie Lester Davis; nephew, Harlan Walking Eagle III; and his step father, Chubby Comeslast.

A wake will be held 7 p.m. Monday, May 9 at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar. Geralds funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 10 also at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow at the Poplar City Cemetery in Poplar.Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
