In Memory Of

Gilbert Miller

Memorial Service: Friday, August 25, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolf Point.

Gilbert Paul Miller, age 71 of Wolf Point passed away August 21, 2006 at Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point after a battle with lung cancer.

Gil was born July 9, 1935 in Zap, ND to Sam and Louise Miller. Gil grew up and attended school in North Dakota. He played basketball in High School and graduated from High School in Golden Valley, N.D. After graduation he joined the military, serving in the Army for 3 years.Gil married Marion Steltzer in 1962 and together they had three sons. Gil and Marion were married for 42 years. In 1961 Gil was employed at a grain elevator in Ellendale, ND, and in 1964 he moved to Golden Valley N.D. where he worked at a grain elevator. In 1967 he moved his family to Plentywood where he worked for Powers Creamery for 6 years. Gil and his family have lived in the Wolf Point community for 33 years. Gil worked for Kermit Gysler at Coast to Coast hardware store, and after retiring from there he continued to work for John Gysler at the NAPA store. Gil enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons, he taught hunter safety for many years. He also enjoyed reading. Gil taught Sunday school at his church for many years.

Gil is survived by his wife Marion of Wolf Point; sons, Todd (Debra) Miller of Billings, Wade Miller of Wolf Point, Jay (Denise) Miller of Rochelle, IL; foster son, Wylone (Sandy) Jone's of Wolf Point; brothers, Melvin Miller of Golden Valley, ND, and Hugho (Elise) of Peralto, N.M.; 7 grandchildren, 3 foster grandchildren, 2 brother in laws, Lawrence and Erwin Steltzer; 2 sister in laws, Evelyn Bernston and Doris Steltzer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Louise Miller; 2 brothers, Leo and Sam Jr.; 2 sisters, Ellen Onstatt and Jean Boussard.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 25, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolf Point.
