Gladys Christopherson, age 96 of Miles City, Montana, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City.
Gladys was born in Fergus Falls, Minnesota on September 28, 1912, the daughter of Charles and Ida (Garis) Rudsenski. She was raised and attended schools in Fergus Falls and graduated from Fergus Falls High School. In 1932, she married Novin Christopherson in Fergus Falls. To this union two daughters were born, Sharon and Marilyn. The family moved to Miles City in 1947, and Gladys has resided there ever since. She worked at J.C. Pennys and Woolworths for a number of years.
Gladys was a member of the First Lutheran Church Lutheran Ladies Aide and the Ash Creek Home Demonstration Club, and was an avid Bridge and Tripoli player. She also enjoyed rock hunting and was a member of the Agate Club. Gladys had excellent sewing skills and loved to refinish furniture and paint. Fresh baked cookies were always available at her home for when friends stopped in for coffee. Gladys also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters; Sharon and her husband Joe McDonald of Ronan, MT and Marilyn and her husband Bob Dickson of Miles City, her grandchildren; Tim, Terry (Paula), Tracie and Tom (Theresa) McDonald, David (Collette), Mark (Rebecca), Stephen (Cheryl), Michael (Kathy), Anita (Chad) Otterness, Brian, and Jon Harris, Ron (Cindy) and Lori Dickson and Jane (Dennis) Pluhar, thirty-four great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, and a sister Helen Halverson of Boise. She was preceded in death by her husband Norvin; three brothers: George, Ralph and Roy; two sisters, Margaret and Elsie and a step-brother, Tommy.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2008 with family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.
