Gladys Mae Hogue was born to Richard and Priscilla Walker in Chadron, NE, December 23, 1910. She passed away December 19, 2010, 4 days short of her 100th birthday at Garfield County Health Center in Jordan, MT.
Gladys married Joseph William (Bill) Hogue in January 1927. They lived in Rushville, NE until 1941 when they and their first 7 children moved to Montana. They lived in Terry, MT for 12 years where their youngest child was born. They lived in Jordan and in Plevna until Mr. Hogues death at which time Gladys moved back to Jordan to be near her daughter.
Gladys was an excellent cook and baker. She drove herself to town until she was 96 years old and lived in her own home until she was nearly 99.
Mrs. Hogue was preceded in death by her husband Bill; son Glen; daughters Billie Coughlin and Lorraine Hogue and sons-in-law Dale Stanton and Cecil Evans.
She is survived by her children Wanda Evans, Gladys Stanton, Dale Hogue, Don and Mary Lou Hogue and Jim and Lou Hogue as well as 23 grand children, 55 great-grandchildren and 47 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Jordan. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 8:00am in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City with burial following in the family plot of the Custer County Cemetery.
