In Memory Of

Glenda Rae Burton, age 47, of Great Falls, MT formerly of Miles City and Circle, MT

May 26, 1975 – January 8, 2023

Glenda Rae (Heitz) Burton was born on May 26, 1975, in Miles City, MT to Glenn and Teri Heitz. She graduated from Circle High School in May of 1994 and went to Northwest College in Powell, WY as a business major and graduated in May of 1996.

Glenda was a cheerleader for Circle High School for four years. She was a part of the M89 Centennial Cattle Drive and Wagon Train (Green Circle) in September of 1989. She was a Washington Warrior 4-H member with her horse, Mustache.

On June 14, 1997, she married Robert W. Burton. Glenda and Robert lived in Greybull, WY from 1997 until 2008 and then they moved to Great Falls. They had three children, Blake in 2001, Zane in 2004, and Ava in 2012.

Glenda spent many years working road construction and she loved driving the large mining dump truck at road construction sites.

When Ava was born, she and Ava spent eighteen months in Seattle, WA and six months in Missoula, MT in hospital. They finally moved back home in 2014.

Glenda was very active in Boy Scouts of America until her sons became Eagle Scouts. She loved the outdoors and if she had an open weekend, she would say, “We’re going Kayaking.” Robert, Glenda, and the family did a lot of Scout and outdoor camping. They especially loved camping on Garnet Mountain.

In the last two years, Glenda became an active quilter. She joined a quilting group at a friend’s house on Thursday mornings. And finished at least a dozen quilts. She was also a very good cook and loved baking and canning.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Lorraine Heitz and Dick and Betty Chezum; father-in-law, Lloyd Burton; and grandfather-in-law, Wynn Tingey.

Glenda is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Blake, Zane, and Ava; parents, Glenn and Teri Heitz; sister, Lynn (Jason) Kelly and children, Neale, Nevin, Layton, Erin Tucker, Kaelynn, and Ainsley; mother-in-law, Bonnie Burton; sisters-in-law, Cindy (Eldee) Hiener and Gayle Dearden; brothers-in-law, Joel (Teresa) Burton, David Burton, and Brian (Triffany) Burton; grandmother-in-law, Barbara Tingey; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral service on Friday, January 20, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (1015 15th Ave. S.) at 1:30 p.m. A reception will follow the service at the church.

I was so heart broken to see that Glenda had passed away. We were really close friends back in our Brockway Bull Pup days. I spent many weekends with her when we were younger. I was a city girl and she showed me what the country life was all about. RIP my friend, until we meet again. Prayers for her family. Find comfort IN JESUS.

She was kind of an asshole, but not as much of an asshole as Clayton Heitz.
