Glenn "Bus" Laird, Jr, age 77, of Miles City, passed away at his home early Saturday morning, October 25, 2003.
Glenn was born on September 9, 1926, in Miles City, Montana, the son of Glenn and Nina (Horr) Laird. He attended grade school and high school in Miles City. During WWII, Glenns love and honor for his country moved him to enlist in the Military, leaving in the middle of his junior year of High School. Due to medical reasons, he was unable to join. Glenn moved to Spokane where he worked as a civilian for the Army Air Force at Gore Hill for the remainder of the war before moving back home to Miles City. Upon his return, he worked several years at Foster Drug, drove truck for Miles Brown, and worked for the Sanitary Dairy for 23 years. On January 18, 1964, Glenn and Betty Kudrna were married, making their home in Miles City. They had two children; Myles and Marcia. Glenn then worked for M & C Beverage where he worked until his retirement in 1991.
Glenn was an outdoorsmen at heart. He loved to be outside fishing, hunting and camping. He was an avid bowler and also enjoyed watching sports, jigsaw puzzles and playing cards.
Glenn is survived by his wife Betty, of 39 years, his children; Myles (Yvonne) Laird of Chinook, MT, and Marcia (Sean) Barry of Regina, Saskatchewan, a brother, Walton Laird of Billings, MT, and his sister Florence Hicks of Milwaukee, OR. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Nina, 2 sisters, Joyce McQuire and Muriel Malcolm and three brothers, Beverly Laird, Bill Laird and Loren Laird.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 30, 2003 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 31, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow at the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
