Glenn Littlebird, Sr. was the true definition of a Cheyenne man – respectful, caring, honest, and hardworking. He was born here on the Northern Cheyenne reservation in Lame Deer, MT on July 27, 1946 to Annie Joyce Littlebird (King) and Harry Peter Littlebird, Sr. He worked with such a high level of professionalism always making decisions in a fair and ethical manner. Glenn was a generous man that looked to help all people, not just some. He was very fortunate to get noticed for his fearless attitude and dedicated work ethic. He lived a strong, prayerful life that allowed him to not only receive, but give many blessings as well. Whenever a chance to learn presented itself, he was never hesitant to take it, invest himself in it, and master it. As much as he loved to learn, he also loved to teach as he played a crucial role in all his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s lives. Being wild and a bit carefree in his early days, he always accepted the consequences of his wrong doings, which ultimately lead to him getting out to work as a law enforcement officer in his mid 20’s. A career that would flourish to top ranks well into the mid 90’s. Early on, he met and married Verona “Dolly” Gwin and had four children from this union – Angela, Ruth, Glenn Jr., and John. Later, he found his beloved partner, Lillian “Bonzo” Littlebird, to bless him with two more children, Lance Rueben and Anna Joy, and to walk beside him through 53 years of marriage up to his last breath. As the oldest of 13 siblings, he knew how important family was in all aspects, never shutting out any of his own no matter what. He instilled these values into the rest of his beloved family, with a constant reminder to always be good to each other. Glenn and Lillian were always the first ones in the gym to support the Colstrip Colts and Fillies and his Lame Deer Morning Stars, cheering especially loud and hard for all his all-star basketball playing grandbabies. His own children were also molded by him to be high-achieving athletes as he emphasized the importance of keeping a strong, healthy lifestyle. All that know him know how genuine and true his heart was as he carried an image that could be put on a screen. He was impactful on each person he came across, sharing a good visit and helping in any way possible. He will be missed dearly by everyone. He is at peace, he is home at the happy hunting grounds with Great Grandfather Spirit.
