Gordon Quenzer, age 86, of Forsyth, Montana, passed away on October 15, 2024, after a short illness at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker, Montana. Gordon was the oldest son of Emanuel and Leona (Mitsch) Quenzer, born on April 9, 1938, in Billings, Montana.
In April of this year, Gordon retired after 34 years at Prince, Inc. in Forsyth. He lived in the Rosebud Nursing Home for a short time before moving to Superior Care Villa, an assisted living facility in Baker in July 2024.
Gordon attended school in Forsyth, graduating from Forsyth High School in 1957. During his school years, he worked as a mechanic at the Standard Station and Tepee Motor Company.
He married Marilyn (Susie) Groombridge in 1959 and enlisted in the Army the following year, where he served for two years before being discharged. They moved to Baker in 1965, and soon after, two children, Dwight and Kimberly, completed their family.
While in Baker, he worked for Heberle Ford Garage (later known as the Quenzer Ford Garage), Richard Pinnow, and Zion Construction. He moved to Miles City and began working for Ray Jerrell in 1982.
Gordon was a meticulous man. He worked as a mechanic and enjoyed his hobby of restoring old Ford cars. He donated three cars to the Deer Lodge Car Museum in Deer Lodge, Montana. Whether he was working on cars or his home, everything had to be perfect.
Gordon was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He served as a trustee and helped in any way he could.
In 2019, Gordon married a longtime friend from Baker, Mary Lee Dietz. He had many good friends in his life, including Grace Watson, Alice Arneson (Halman), Alex and Junior Collie, Bob Watts, Freddie Heberle, and many caretakers at Superior Care Villa and Rosebud Nursing Home.
Gordon is survived by his children, Dwight of Laramie, Wyoming, Kimberly (Marvin) Dahl of Dickinson, North Dakota; his grandchildren Michelle (Tyler), Rachel (Fritz III), Audrey and Bryce; and four great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Molly, Sawyer, and Hayes.
He is also survived by his brothers David (Pat) Quenzer of Forsyth and Duane (Launa) Quenzer of Baker; his sisters Gladys (David) Rabe of Battleground, Washington, Shirley (Chris) Sakelaris and Linda (Lee) Moore of Baker; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emanuel and Leona, nephew Mark Sakelaris, great-niece Kirsten Moore, Grace Watson, and Mary Lee (Dietz) Quenzer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Concordia Lutheran Church for the help of lighting the cross. Condolences to the family may be made by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.

I remember many Stories of Gordon, mainly when in High School. He was an outspoken kid and got us in trouble many times. I’d rather not tell the Stories on here, so won’t. We had a lot of fun 😁 over the years and I later in Life also enjoyed visiting. Rest in peace Gordon, old Friend. We will miss You.
