Grace was the last of three children born to Annie and Charles Felton on February 11th 1925. Grace´s early years occurred during the depression but they were anything but depressing. Grace loved music and was an avid dancer in both tap and ballet and she never stopped dancing. She loved skiing and playing golf with her Aunt Mary. At the age of 23, Grace obtained her first pilot´s license; something that was very uncommon for a women in 1948. During World War II, Grace enlisted in the US Marine Corp and spent her service years in Arlington, Virginia. She worked as a stenographer and later with the civil service. After the war, she was employed with the civil service in Springfield, Ma. While attending a house party in 1954, Grace met the love of her life, Martin Lemelin. Dad would say "I saw this beautiful girl thru a picture window and knew I had to marry her." They were married on December 9, 1954 and so began a great adventure. Sandra was born in 1955 while Marty was stationed as a civilian with the Air Force in Germany. Martin Jr. was born in Heidelberg, Germany in 1957. After returning to the US, Peter was born in Caribou, Maine in 1960. The family moved to several different locations thru out New England. In 1965, the family moved to Miles City. Grace worked for Mountain Bell Telephone for several years and then as a secretary at the Veteran´s Hospital in the Social Services Department. She truly enjoyed helping the veterans. In their retirement years, Grace and Marty traveled extensively, often times with her brother, Lyman Felton. Paris was their special city.
Grace was an incredible mother and wife. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She loved us with all her heart and we will miss her terribly but we know that now she is now with her beloved Marty. Her positive attitude and smile will forever lift our spirits.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Martin Lemelin, her son Martin Lemelin Jr., her brother Lyman Felton and her sister Bernice Gould.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Lemelin (Steven) and Peter Lemelin (Dawna). Her grandchildren, Nicole, Jordan, David, Sabrina, and Christopher. She is also survived by her dear friends, Jean and Earle Kiddie, the Charlee and Bus Morris family, Misty Carlson and her beloved cat Hamlet.
