Grace Eileen Cady Watson McNabb was born May 13, 1938 up Slaughter House Creek north of Forsyth to Herb and Agnes Cady. She attended school in Ashland, Montana, at the St Labre Mission.
Grace married Max Watson October 5, 1957 in Forsyth, Montana. They had 6 children: Ginger, Max Jr, Terri, Tracey, Randy, and Robin. Max passed away in October, 1973. She then moved to Glasgow with Randy and Robin in 1980 and drove school bus for the Glasgow school district until a minor stroke in 1998 ended her driving career.
She met Pete McNabb in 1985 and they married the summer of 1986. Pete passed away December, 1996.
Grace loved to play pinochle and go to jam sessions. She delighted in sending birthday cards to her family and friends, especially the grandkids where she would send them $2 bills in their cards. That was a big deal to them.
In her retirement she moved to Forsyth and reunited with an old school friend, Gordon Quenzer, with whom she had a special friendship until her death, May 31, 2017.
She is survived by one sister, Barbara Durkey, from Florida; her 6 children: Ginger(Gary) Guderjahn, Kalispell, Montana, Max (Nancy) Watson Jr., Huntley, Montana, Terri(John) Coldwell, Jordan, Montana, Tracey Watson, Fairview, Montana, Randy(Susan)Watson, Hathaway, Montana, and Robin(Carla) Watson, Fairview, Montana; 17 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Agnes Cady; husband, Max Watson Sr.; husband, Pete McNabb; and sister, Joyce Hansen.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Grace’s family. Grace (I always called her Gracie) was such a character and was so nice to us when we first moved to Hysham. She had a great sense of humor, and I will never forget when she grabbed Larry up and made him dance with her at one of the Jr.-Sr. Proms! She never let him forget that either. Our thoughts will be with Gracie’s family. Larry and Vicky Fink

I was so shocked to see this. I had no idea Gracie was ailing. She never failed to send me a birthday card although I had no idea how she knew it was my birthday. My condolences to her family and to another old friend of mine, Gordon.

Max and Nancy and all the family: So sorry about the loss of your Mother, Grace. Grace was always very friendly and enjoyed visiting wherever we met. Especially Max and our son Mark were best of friends all thru school and marriages. Family and distance keeps them from the closeness that was there but the friendship is always present and especially when a hug or handshake can help. Our sympathies to all of you. The Van Haele’s

Sending my condolences to GRACE’s family and loved ones. Met Grace {volunteer} when I worked at nursing home and Grace wanted or continued to want to send birthday cards to our residents. My Mom received a birthday card in April 2017. By the way she found out my birthday and has been sending a card to me for years. I cannot even guess how many cards she sent each year. A lovely lady with a beautiful spirit.

We always enjoyed seeing Grace and Gordon – usually eating dinner at the Longhorn in Rosebud. She was a dear, sweet lady and will be missed.
Waneeta Farris says
We were saddened to hear of Gracie’s passing. We have known her for many many years, she was a kind friend.
When she and Max lived in the Howard Valley I delivered eggs to her weekly. My short visits with her were, at times, quite entertaining. Having 6 small children there was always something to laugh about. May your memories help to soothe the ache in your hearts. Waneeta Brockel Farris & Willa Brockel Arbogast
