Grace Winifred Weiss, age 97, of Miles City passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.
Grace was born November 6, 1914 in Miles City to James & Winifred (Clayton) Cory. She grew up and attended eight years of school at Moon Creek and finished up her schooling in Miles City. On February 9, 1936 she married Joseph Lee Weiss in Miles City, Montana. They moved to into Miles City in 1940 where she resided until the time of her passing.
She loved visiting with her family and friends. She loved to paint. She took up painting later on in life and won several blue ribbons at the fair competitions. She got her driver’s license when she was 59 years old, shortly after her husband Joseph passed away. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Grace is survived by her son Joseph Jr. (Ginger) Weiss of Great Falls, MT; a brother Jack Cory of Battle Creek, MI; three Grandchildren: Julie (Andy) Younggren of La Grande, OR, Jill Boettcher of East Helena, MT and Brian (Claudia) Weiss of East Helena, MT; nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday 13, 2012 with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Custer County Cemetery. To Grace’s family: Grace was such a lovely, sweet lady. Each time I came to Montana to visit my parents at Holy Rosary Extended Care, I got to know some of the other residents. I loved visiting with Grace and spending time with her. My thoughts are with you at this time of loss.
