Harold was born at the farm by Wason Flats, MT on July 21, 1935, to Daniel and Maggie Erlenbusch. He passed away in his sleep February 19, 2018 at the Veterans Hospice Care in Miles City, Montana. He attended Pitzer School and graduated the eighth grade in 1950. He worked on the family farm until June 1958 when he was drafted into the army. He served many posts in the army; most notably as an Honor Guard, in Arlington, Virginia. He was honorably discharged as Specialist-4 (E-4) rank after serving two years, where he returned home to the farm. He had many memories of working for Harry Ross and Otto Hirsh, driving Harry Ross around to bull sales and helping them out farming and ranching. He even started his own registered Angus herd for a short time. On November 5, 1971 he married Mary Martin, his little Texas girl, in Amarillo, Texas, and they moved with her two sons Bruce and Terry to start their family in Cohagen, Montana, where three more sons, Stephen, Patrick, and Harold Bryce, were born. After Mary passed on October 4, 1999, Harold ran the farm by himself until May 20, 2001 when he married Charlotte Hirsch, the first girl he ever kissed (he practiced kissing his arm behind the barn before going on a date with because he had never kissed a girl before). They stayed on the farm and worked together until they moved into Miles City due to health concerns. Harold’s most memorable time was working on the farm where he enjoyed life farming and working cows. He liked to travel as long as he was on the farm at the day’s end. One of his favorite times was hearing the Meadowlark sing as he knew winter was over and spring was here. He never was afraid of work, or how bad the weather may have been; he always was the first one out the door in the morning and the last one in at the end of a hard day’s work. He instilled work ethic into his five boys, and every other nephew, niece, or friend that would help. He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Magdalena (Naasz) Erlenbusch, His first wife Mary Erlenbusch, two brothers Orville and Victor, two grandsons, and a granddaughter. He is survived by his current wife Charlotte Erlenbusch, sons Bruce Erlenbusch of Forsyth, Terry (Patrisha) Erlenbusch of Oklahoma City, Stephen (Amber) Erlenbusch of Billings, Patrick (Tammy) Erlenbusch of Billings, and Harold (Shawna) Erlenbusch of Cohagen; his siblings, Ervin, Lavern, Clara, and Lucetta; along with many nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
