Harold C Juell (Howie), age 70, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on December 26, 2007 in Wolf Point, Montana.
Howie was born November 26, 1937 to Lawrence and Vivian Juell in Oberlin, Ohio. He had a brother, Paul Juell (Fargo, ND) and a foster brother, Marvin Uphaus (deceased). Howie just celebrated his 70th birthday with great joy. Harold married Julia A Biery on December 11, 1958 and they just celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. Dad enjoyed his time in the army in which he repaired and serviced helicopters and was also a member of the boxing team. Later in life, he continued to use his boxing experience to train other young men. He was also a great swimmer and built a mean camp fire. Howie attended high school in several towns as his father was a preacher. He graduated from Glasgow High School in 1955. He attended Rocky Mountain College in 1956 where he played on the football team. Howie was honorably discharged from the U.S Army in 1960. He then began his career with the Montana Highway Department as a mechanic from which he retired in 1992 after 32 years. He was a past church elder and deacon for the First Presbyterian church in Wolf Point. Some of Howies favorite pastimes were taking Judy out on the lake to fish as long as it consisted of a boat ride. He loved to ride his motorcycles and drive his 1951 purple Chevy in the local parade. Howie enjoyed his seven children, his 22 grandchildren and the 2 great grandchildren. He was known to teach children to make a loud Pepsi induced burp and he built a fierce camp fire to watch in the evenings around camp. Camping, fishing and sports were a large part of raising a large family. Howie may have raised a large family but he refused to grow up! Nothing will ever compare to Howies love for his wife, Judy. Second to her, his family meant the most. Howie grew up in a small family but assured Judy that they were going to have a large one!!
Harold is survived by his wife Julia (Judy) Juell and his seven children. He was preceded in death by his brother Marvin, his parents Lawrence & Vivian, an infant daughter Kelly, and several close brothers in laws.
His children are Julie & Sonny Flynn in Wolf Point, Larry Juell in Big Timber, Randy & Lynn Juell in Redwood Falls, MN, Jay & Julie Juell in St. Peter, MN, Sherri Bird in Billings, Shelly & Gene Stovern in Wolf Point, and Jeanni & Jeff Heser in Billings. His 22 grand children are Christina, Ashley & Kurt Flynn: Melinda, Kenny & Jenny Juell: Andy, Brandy, TJ & RJ Juell: Cody, Brooke, Lauren & Caitlin Juell: China, PJ & Asia Bird: James & Jesse Stovern: Katrina, Karen & Dani Heser. The great joy in his life lately was his two great grandchildren; Jaci Lynn Riggs & Sierra Belle Hamilton. The third great grand child is on the way!
They bring great joy to a room! He always said, I may not be rich, but I have a lot of Juells! Loved by all!
