He attended grade school at Bay Horse Country School and graduated from Powder River High School in 1960. He attended Eastern Montana College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1966. Glen married Karen Richards in 1960. After returning to Broadus and wintering in Yuma, he was persuaded into serving as the Broadus Elementary School principal and then took the position as Superintendent of Schools at Powder River County High School. After Glens third and final retirement, Broadus became home and they spent the winters of 2003 2005 in Yuma, Arizona.

He loved to rope in his younger years, but his passion in life was playing music. He was an excellent musician, mastering the banjo, fiddle, mandolin, keyboard, bass and guitar. He traveled many miles to play music with his family and friends, and was a member of the Eastern Montana Fiddlers. He also loved the ranch where he grew up near Biddle, and spent many hours helping his Dad and brother Dave hay and work cattle. He coached basketball and football and was himself an athlete in his high school days. He was involvedthe Commercial Club in Broadus, the Montana High School Association. Hecould often befound shooting the breeze and drinking coffee with his buddies at the Corner Store.
