Harold was born September 21, 1913 to Cora (Martin) Reeves and Stanley E. Reeves of Milford, Illinois.Harold overcame many hardships in his youth and provided for his family in the Depression years. He developed a strong character that continued to help him through life. He accepted the Lord as his Savior in 1937 and gave his life to serving Him whatever way He led.Harold then preceded to pursue his education. As a young man working his way through Wheaton College, he met Dan Toavs working in the broiler room, who brought him to Wolf Point where he worked for A.F. Toavs because his sons were serving in the U.S. Military. Here he met the love of his life, Rosella, and they were married on November 24, 1948 at the First Baptist church in Minneapolis, Minnesota where they lived till his retirement in August of 1973 from the Minneapolis School System. He completed his education at Wheaton College and did further studies at the University of Minnesota earning his Masters Degree in Administration Education.
Harold was accomplished in many areas that many know nothing about due to his never putting emphasis on himself. Some of these were: being an ordained minister; being a successful swimmer and life guard; a graceful ballroom dancer; a trend-setter in education; writing a manuscript on the effects of color-blindness in the classroom; a qualified photographer; an avid fisherman and friend who loved a good time playing games, listening to music and eating ice cream; or as an encourager with wisdom and understanding. He was a super class school administrator, helping children enjoy the educational process and as an assistant to the Superintendent of Minneapolis Schools, developing multi-million dollar projects to improve the education of youth. In all these accomplishments he always provided a sense of humor that was basic to his character.
After retirement Harold and Rosella settled in Montana, living in various locations: Helena, Billings, Kalispell, Whitefish, Glasgow and Wolf Point. Harold was dedicated to serving Christ throughout his life. He was a man who stood tall in integrity, wisdom and understanding man with eloquent words with a flair! In these years he volunteered in a variety of organizations and ministries and together they impacted many people by their lives and testimony.
He is preceded in death by his wonderful and devoted wife, Rosella, December 19, 2005; mother; two older brothers, Orval and Stephan; and sisters, Marjorie, Eva and Geneva.
