Harriet Clausen Bagley, age 100, of Miles City passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the Eagles Manor in Miles City.
Harriet was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on December 16, 1905, the daughter of Dr. Bernard and Mary (Chancellor) Clausen. The family moved to Binghamton, New York where she attended schools. She held a bachelors degree in science from Drexel Institute of Technology in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a Masters Degree from Columbia University in New York City. She taught Home Economics for three years then was County Agent in the Extension Service for twenty one years in New York and Fremont County in Lander, Wyoming. She married Joseph L. Bagley in Lander, Wyoming on July 11, 1952 and moved to Miles City in 1960. In former years, she had been active in Association of University Women, Yellowstone Agate Club and Highland Park Congregational Church. She was a member of the Custer County Art Center and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Harriet is survived by a step son, Robert Bagley of McMinnville, OR; ten step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987, a step son Clarence in 1997 and four brothers.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 26, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will be held at a later date in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander, Wyoming. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
