Harriet Irene Haworth, age 83, of Miles City passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.
Harriet was born in White Butte, South Dakota on June 22, 1924, the daughter of Jay andPernella (Weeding) Riddle. She was raised on the family farm west of Lemmon and attended country school in a one room school house and graduated from high school in Lemmon, South Dakota. She married Virgil Haworth in Monterey Park, California on February 6, 1943. They remained in California while Virgil was in the service and later worked for Carnation Creamery in California. They later moved to Miles City where they raised their family. For numerous years, she worked as a physical therapy aide at the VA Hospital. Virgil passed away in 1989 and she has continued to live in Miles City.
Harriet loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. A special thank you to Nannette Morgan and the nurses and staff at Holy Rosary Health Center.
Harriet is survived by her son, Vince Haworth of Miles City, MT; three daughters:Virjay Glover of Billings, MT; Vi Russell of Billings, MT; and Valinda Hartmann of Butte, MT; a sister, Darlene Riddle of Lemmon, SD; two sisters-in-law: Phyllis Riddle and Jane Dale and her husband Pierre Mangen of Miles City, MT; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Virgil Haworth; three brothers: Robert, Duane and Jim; a granddaughter, Jacqueline Glover and a grandson,Traton Pierce.
At Harriets request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
