Harriet Irene (Lentz) Wiseman was born on June 28, 1920 in Redwood Falls, MN. Her family lived in Minneapolis for a short time before moving to the windswept plains of eastern Montana and to Baker, MT where she spent her school years. Her father was postmaster and mother was a homemaker. She was the oldest of seven children and was the designated disciplinarian for the younger siblings. After high school graduation she moved to Miles City to attend and graduate from the Holy Rosary Hospital nursing program. While in Miles City she met G. Dee Wiseman and they were married on November 28, 1942. After two sons were born; Robert on April 17, 1944 and Richard on September 21, 1947, the family moved to Billings MT. Harriet worked as a nurse in the pediatric ward at Deaconess Hospital and then at the Children’s Clinic. In 1969 she moved with her husband Dee back to Miles City where they had purchased the Squire Shop men’s clothing store. They operated the Squire Shop until 1986.
In her younger years Harriet enjoyed square dancing and bowling. After returning to Miles City she took up golf at The Town and Country Club and was active in ladies and mixed leagues. She took great pleasure in sitting on the deck of her apartment which faced the 4th tee box and waving to the members as they left the tee. Some would come over and visit for a minute before completing the hole. She also enjoyed playing bridge with Dee and in the ladies’ bridge group at the Town and Country Club. The Miles City Club was also a regular stop after work for a martini before dinner and to visit with friends. She also looked forward to having her two granddaughters Jennifer and Carrie come visit several times each year. She made sure that Miles City became their second home.
Harriet passed peacefully in her sleep with Pat, Melissa, Sara, James and Dick attending her final hours. She never lost her keen mind, sharp wit, enduring patience, and love for her friends and family. She will be missed, but her life continues through her extended family.
Harriet is survived by her Son Dick and wife Pat Wiseman, daughter-in-law Sandra Wiseman, brother Karl (Buzzy) Lentz, brother Everett and wife Bev Lentz, sister-in -law Ruth Lentz, brother-in-law Mads Anderson, grand children Jennifer and husband Jeff Sikorski, Carrie and husband Joe Mott, Melissa and husband James Elliott, step grandchildren David, Greg, and Jeff Elm and their extended families, great grandchildren Kelsey, Courtney, Hope, Bryan, Bree Ann, Sara , Kallie and Philip and great great grandchildren Charlee and Oliver as well as many nephews and nieces.

Matt Brubaker says
I worked for Dee and Harriet for many years at the Squire Shop in Miles City. I’m very sad to hear about Harriet’s passing. I have often wondered over the years how she was doing. We were a little family in the 70’s. My condolences to Dick and the rest of the family. Harriet and Dee were a big part of my life at one time and I’m sad to hear of her passing. God bless you.

Harriet was a great customer of mine years ago at Gallagher’s and again at Holy Rosary. Will miss her sweet smile!

Dick and Pat:
Sorry to learn of Harriet’s passing. You both took great care of her and were attentive to her needs. Although we knew her for a long time, it was in the more recent years that we especially enjoyed her company at the Country Club. Lucy has fond memories of her and Kent visiting pretty much daily when the renovation project was in progress a few years ago. And of course, a martini here and there usually happened. Our best to you, good friends.

We always got a kick out of Harriet when we met up with her at the golf course. She always had a story to share and a smile on her face. Thinking of you, Dick and Pat.
