Funeral Service: Friday, April 27, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel
Interment: At Harry's request, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.
Harry Alvin Olson, age 85, of Vida, MT, passed away Monday, April 23, 2007 at Sidney Health Center after a 2 year battle with colon cancer.
He farmed and ranched twelve miles NE of Vida for all of his life. Harry was born April 20, 1922, in Poplar, MT, to Chris and Olga (Haugen) Olson. He grew up in Vida, attended Longview Elementary School for eight years then worked on the family farm and broke horses. He was only twenty two when his father died. In the forties he broke some horses to get a saddle and a cultivator.
He saw all the changes in farming and loved raising grain, livestock and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Clarence Olson, Ella Deshaw and baby Ruth.
Harry is survived by siblings, Clorie Kuehne of Wolf Point, Lawrence (Ann) Olson of Vida, Wilma (Edward) Bernard of Winston, Salem OR, Eddie Olson of Vida and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation for Harry will be Thursday, April 26, from 9:00 AM 7:00 PM at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel, in Wolf Point. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 27, 2007 at 2:00 PM, also at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel. As requested by Harry cremation will follow and burial will be at Vida Cemetery.
