Harvey Tedder, 68, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Holy Rosary Hospital of natural causes. Harvey was born in September 1944 in Portland, Oregon, to Ruth Nescle Erickson and Dr. Harold John Tedder, a worldwide evangelist. He was the youngest of four children.
After high school, Harvey attended L.I.F.E. Bible College in Los Angeles and received his certification in pastoral theology. Upon completion of his certification, he served the Four Square Church in Washington, Montana and California for three years. He was inspired by a Bible passage to follow his heart in coming to Montana to propose to the love of his life, Sheryl Johnson, who he met at Bible College. They were married in October of 1971.
For the first 22 years of their marriage, Harvey and Sheryl lived and worked in California and Washington. His ministry and his working at Toro Irrigation kept them in that area. After Harvey’s step-parents passed away and he no longer served the church as a minister, he and Sheryl moved back to Miles City where they have shared the past 19 years together. While in Miles City, Harvey worked at the Miles City Laundry and Ace Hardware. He retired in 2010.
Harvey enjoyed collecting bright colored hats. He and Sheryl collected Cabbage Patch dolls and enjoyed drives, especially to look at Christmas decorations.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sheryl, one sister Bernice Jevons of Sorrento, British Columbia, Canada, two brothers-in-law, Larry Johnson of Kalispell, and Loren Johnson of Miles City. He was preceded in death by his step-parents, his mother-in-law Shirley Engels, his brothers Raymond and John, and his sister-in-law Darleen Barnes.
Harvey and Sheryl would like to sincerely thank the I.C.U. staff at Holy Rosary Healthcare for the most compassionate and unconditional support and treatment during his final days. The respect they demonstrated for Harvey and Sheryl will forever be appreciated. A special thank you also goes to Dorothy Zabrocki for her spiritual support through this final chapter of Harvey’s life.

I am so sorry for your loss.
Carolyn Hanson says
I just ran across this announcement today while thinking about my husband Alfred’s relatives. Harvey used to come visit Alfred’s parents Reynold and Ensie Hanson in Nebraska back in the forties. Ensie was a sister to Harvey’s mother Ruth.
I would like to connect with Harvey’s siblings if they are able to correspond. They would be first cousin to my husband Alfred. I noticed that the two brothers live in Montana, and one still in Miles City. Thank you so much if you could connect me with them or their sister.
God bless you all; we are Christians and believe in Jesus as our precious Savior.
