Helen Grue

Visitation: Monday, August 14, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry

Prayer Service: Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry.

Funeral services: Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry.

Interment: Prairie County Cemetery.

Helen Grue, age 83, of Terry, MT, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City.

Helen was born on the family homestead north of Terry on Bracket Creek on August 22, 1922, the daughter of Arthur Jacob and Katherine (Zimmerman) Warner. She attended Roosevelt Country School then started school in Terry at the sixth grade and graduated from Terry High School. After graduation, Helen helped Grace and Wyatt Harmon and Lucille and Jim Brown with raising their children. She also helped on the family ranch with the dairy cows and chickens, and sold their produce. Helen and Charles Grue were united in marriage on June 4, 1955 in Billings, Montana. They retuned to the ranch north of Terry and have resided there ever since.

Helen was an avid gardener, loved raising flowers and enjoyed canning and making her own jellies and jams. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, Cowbelles and the Republican Women. Helens greatest joy came from spending time with her family and especially her granddaughters.

Helen is survived by her son; Clinton Grue and his wife Sandra and their children: Layna and Ann all of Terry, MT, her daughter, Betty Lynn McCarthy and her husband Sean of Buffalo, MO, two sisters; Florence Meisenheimer of California and Grace Harmon of Coeur D Alene, ID, a sister-in-law, Janet Warner of Terry, MT and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2001, her brother, Buck Warner, and four sisters; Lucille Brown, Phyllis Moore, Maxine Neider and May Warner.

Visitation will begin on Monday, August 14, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry with a prayer service Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry. Interment will be in the family lot of the Prairie County Cemetery. Should friends wish, condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Prairie County Museum, the Miles City Hospice or to the charity of one's choice.
