In Memory Of

Helen Miller Jaques, age 73, of Miles City.

January 21, 1947 – May 19, 2020

Helen Marie Miller Jaques left us for a place of peace and eternal comfort on May 19, 2020.

Helen was born to Alice Bard Donlin and Leo Donlin on January 21, 1947 in Missoula, MT. She joined three siblings, a sister Mary Ann Dickey, a brother George Donlin, and a sister Eleanor Koppenstein.

The family left Missoula in 1950 to find their home in Mildred, MT. Helen resided there until she left to attend High School at Sacred Heart School, which she graduated in 1966.  While Helen was in high school she met Gale Miller.  They fell in love and were married, December 28, 1966.  To this union three children were born Craig (Deann) Miller, Wade (Helaina) Miller, and Jody (Mike) Nible.  During this time in her life Helen was a farmer’s wife, a mom, and a hardworking ranch hand most days.  Helen and Gale eventually parted ways and she moved on to find a career in bartending where she found a knack for sharing a friendly smile to all those to stopped by to share a story.  She was bartending in Fallon, MT when she met Chuck Jaques who charmed his way into her life with his quick wit and sly smile.  Helen and Chuck married on June 27, 1998.  This union gave her a step-daughter, Stephanie Oliver, who she loved as her own.  While together they farmed in Fallon, MT and eventually moved to Miles City, MT.  Helen remained married to Chuck until the time of his passing in 2007.   When Helen lost Chuck she kept herself busy by being a devoted CNA and traveling all over to watch her grandchildren’s sporting events.  Helen loved being a mom and was very proud of her grandchildren.  She was a loyal friend to all those she cared about.  Helen’s family was very important to her.  She loved her siblings, children, grandchildren, and nieces & nephews very much.

Helen is survived by her children Craig (Deann) Miller, Wade (Helaina) Miller, Jody (Mike) Nible, and Stephanie (Chris) Oliver; her grandchildren Thomas Ideker, Hadleigh Miller, TyRee Miller; Kinley Miller, Karston Miller; Gabe Nible, Stephen Nible, and Phoebe Nible; her siblings George (Grace) Donlin, and Eleanor Koppenstein; and various nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Alice Bard Donlin, Leo Donlin, her sister Mary Ann (Sam) Dickey, and her husband Chuck Jaques.

At Helen’s request no funeral will be held. Please join us for a Celebration of Life Luncheon in Helen’s Honor on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 12:00 pm at the Veteran of Foreign Wars Club (VFW) in Miles City, MT.  Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting:  www.stevensonandsons.com.

In lieu of flowers should friends desire a memorial please send them to a charity of one’s choice.

I regret now I never took the time to know Helen as well as I know Gale and Craig. She was always friendly and seemed to enjoy a life of ease and accomplishment. She was possessing many qualities I have never obtained and
I absolutely know she will be a Greeter and a Provider and a Special Administrator for GOD into eternity. She has graduated and she would want us to be pleased we will see her soon in Heaven forever.

My condolences to Helen’s family. I had the privilege of working with Helen at the hospital for several years before she retired, she was always so much fun to work with! She always had the sassiest and funniest comments that had her coworkers and the patients laughing. She was an incredibly hard worker and I learned so much from her. Whenever I ran into her it was like we’d pick up right where we’d left off. She always talked about her family and it was obvious how special you all were to her.

Helen was a good friend many years ago when we all lived at Angela. I didn’t get to see her often after that, but when we did run into each other at the hospital, grocery store, or a social event, we could really do some “power visiting.” I’m gonna miss that. Hugs to all of you. She loved you very much.

Helen was so very proud of her kids and grandkids, every time we talked she let me know of their accomplishments and lately the disappointments the seniors were facing over graduation and how badly she wanted to fix it and make it better. Helen was a selfless person and always ready to please everyone. We had so much fun last summer with our trip to Chicago for George’s 80 Birthday, and I’m so happy that I didn’t rush home after but spent more time with her and the rest of the family. I will miss my sister/best friend. Love you and miss you Sis. Rest now there is no more pain. God Bless.
