Graveside Service: Custer County Cemetery.
Helen Keithley, age 89, of Miles City passed away at her home on Monday, December 20, 2010.
Helen was born on October 4, 1921 to Margaret and Julian Vagle. She was raised in Hanley Falls, MN, setting out at the age of 18 for the large metropolis of Minneapolis where she worked at the five and dime while continuing her education. When she later became a wife and mother her days were full and often blessed. She worked tirelessly on the war effort as she had two brothers stationed overseas. Coming to Miles City in 1944, she managed the McQueen apartments for many years. Her hard work ethic and positive attitude, as well as her undying belief in the Christian faith made her cherished by her husband Slick, her children, family and countless life -long friends.
Helen was a volunteer at the VA Hospital for many years, a past president of the Eagles Auxiliary and member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In recent years her health declined, losing most of her sight and mobility and she became a bit of a shut-in. Her greatest pleasure was visits from friends, relatives and Pastor Schreibeis.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold Slick Keithley and son Herb Keithley.
Helen is survived by her daughter Bonnie Scott; grandchildren Marvin Cain, Brian (Jen) Cain, Carla Keithley, and Chris (Patty) Keithley; step son Walt (Judy) Marolf; loving daughter-in-law Cathy Keithley and many great grandchildren.
