Herbert Adolf Sasse, age 74, passed away at his home in Mesa, Arizona on April 14, 2010.

Herbert was born on December 31, 1935 in Zap, North Dakota to John and Wihelmana (Madche) Sasse. He attended school in Zap, graduating from Zap High School. Herbert honorably served on active duty in the Army of the United States from August 1955 to August 1957. Herbert married Audrey Wolf on June 16, 1959. During Herberts working career, he worked for Montana-Dakota Utilities in Mandan, North Dakota, Sheridan, Wyoming, Glendive, Montana, and finally for 16 years worked a regular shift at Miles City, Montana, instead of shift work. He worked for 40 years. He loved his job, but loved retirement more, just loved to camp and spend time with Audrey. He loved his family and loved to spend time with children and grandchildren. Ed is his number one son-in-law who he will miss dearly. Herbert will be there to meet him in heaven. Herberts greatest joy was working with wood, and he had a great wood working shop. In his later life he spent a lot of time creating latch hook master pieces for family and friends.

Herbert loved his home in Mesa, Arizona. What a great place to spend the winter. He disliked Montana winters. Herbert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Miles City, and served on a few committees. He was active with Good Sams Club serving as president for Miles City, and State Assistant Director. He was also active with IBEW Union and Jaycees. Herbert will be remembered for his sense of humor and quick, numerous jokes.

Herbert is survived by his wife Audrey of Miles City.

He is survived by his children: Valerie Gail Sasse, of Billings, Vicki Lynn Bohlmann (Wendy), of Loveland, Colorado, and Dr. Troy John Sasse (Tara), of Quincy, Michigan, and Vanessa Kay Gruba (Ed), of Miles City. His grandchildren Scot (Amy), Bryan, Cortney, Cassie (Dustin), Jacob, Alexis, and Mikenna. His great grandchildren: Zackerie, Gaberial, and Gretchen. His brother, Rudolph Sasse and sister, Erna (Ervin) Wolf of North Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters, and his grandchild, Breanna.
