Herman was an excellent story teller and his laugh was contagious. I am greatful to have had the privledge to sit and enjoy his conversation on a couple of occasions. I know he certainly left a positive impression and experience with all whom he met. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the Bearcomesout family.

Words can not begin to describe the impact that Herman has had on the lives of so many–myself included. He was one of those rare, great men who lived a truly humble life. He would admit to “helping people” but would not allow anyone to put him on any kind of pedestal. Herman had the special ability to make each person feel at east and valuable. He loved to pray, eat, and laugh. He could often be heard singing peyote songs, whatever he was doing, wherever he was. Prayer and the spiritual life were so ingrained in his being that he wore them like a mantle, blessing people silently by his mere presence. His laughter is what I most remember and his boundlessly generous and loving heart. He affectionately referred to the Cheyenne Reservation as his “sweat tipi” yet made all the world his home–befriending people from all over the globe. I bow to the sweet spirit that is his and give thanks that I had the blessed, good fortune to have known him.

Dear family and friends of Herman Bearcomesout – My sincere condolences to your family. It is obvious according to the information listed above about Mr. Bearcomesout that he was loved and his life touched many people. Please continue to be comforted by many beautiful memories of Mr. Bearcomesout and Bible promises at this difficult time. Be assured that it was not a part of the Creator’s purpose that people suffer and die. Everything made by God was “very good” (Genesis 1:31) Sickness and death was introduced through Adam’s disobedience (Genesis 2:17). There will come a time when the dead are resurrected (John 5:28. 29). No one will say “I am sick” (Isaiah 33:24). We are promised that death will be no more (Revelation 21:4). Meanwhile we have the opportunity to be further comforted by continuing to read the Bible which gives us comfort and hope (John 17:3).
