Hilda Fiechtner, age 92, of Billings, formerly of Miles City passed away on April 14, 2006 at St. Johns Lutheran nursing home in Billings, MT.
Hilda A. (Hirsch) Fiechtner was born January 30, 1914 to Jacob and Annie Hirsch in Java, South Dakota. The familysettled on a homestead in Crow Rock, Mt in 1915. Hilda married Emil Fiechtner on November 18, 1932and they made their homein Java, SD for the next 9 years. Their daughter Janet was born on September 6, 1934 and in 1941 the family moved to Miles City, MT. Hilda workedfor most of her life serving the public in grocery stores, restaurants, the Penguin Shop, Miles City Steam Laundry, and Friendship Villa.She enjoyed being around People. Her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren andgreat-grandchildren who she loved taking care of whenever she had the opportunity. She alsoenjoyed working in her garden, traveling,and visiting with friendsover a cup of coffee. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Miles City. In 1997 shemoved to St. John's Lutheran Home in Billings, MT where she received special care and enjoyed the manydevoted care givers. The family wishes to thank the care givers and Pastorfor the kindness and comfort extended to Hilda and her family over her years at St. John's Lutheran Home.
Hildawas preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister Edna Hirsch Schmidt, and a brother Edwin Hirsch.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Fiechtner) Potter and husband Ray; granddaughter, LaRae (Potter) Weikert and husband Bill; son, Raymond Potter and wife Laura; great-grandchildren, Jeremy andSarah Weikert, Kylie, Adam, and Nicole Potter; Her brothers, AlfredHirsch and wife, Eunice; Ted Hirsch and wife, Ruth; Elmer Hirsch and wife,Marge; and sisters, Martha Finch; Ruth Thomas; Ruby Fields, and husband George; Gertie Fisher and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the family to receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 11:00 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Miles City, MT. Interment will follow at the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
