TerryHilda Gaub, 94, passed away Monday April12, 2004, at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care facility.

Hilda was born February 25, 1910 in Malojaros1awek (Wittenberg), Russia. At age three months, she immigrated with her parents, Adam J. and Anna Marie (Necker) Kalmback and two single uncles to the US arriving at Ellis Island on May 25, 1910. Her parents homesteaded four miles southeast of Marsh. She graduated from the Dewald country school.

On March 12, 1939, she married Joe Gaub and they farmed in the Marsh and Fallon area their entire lives. She enjoyed working in her garden, gathering and preserving foods, and preparing meals for countless family gatherings. In 1996 she and Joe moved off the family farm and resided in Fallon. In 1999 they both moved to Glendive.

Hilda is survived by sons Allen, of Glendive; Bernie (Carrol) of Bloomington, MN; Donald (Carleen) of Fallon and granddaughters Bethany and Cassandra of Billings; and two sisters Linda Irion of Terry and Pauline Gaub of Glendive Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, three brothers: Albert, Adam, and John and two sisters: Martha Sperle and Elsie Zimback.

Visitation will begin Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel in Terry. A prayer service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 17, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Church of North America in Fallon. Interment will follow in the Prairie County Cemetery in Terry.
