Howard “Sheridan” Twenty Stands, age 75, of Lame Deer passed away, December 23, 2017, at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings.
Howard was born on October 12, 1942 to Arthur Blackstone and Mary Wild Hog. He is a descendant of Chief Sweet Medicine, Little Wolf, and Wild Hog.
Howard worked at Guild Arts and Crafts in Ashland and the IGA store in Lame Deer including the Commodity Distribution Center. He was a member of the Elk Horn Scrapers.
Howard’s extended family includes: Runsabove, Standing Elk, Small, Killsontop, Spotted Elk, Parker, Seminole, Braided Hair, Killsnight, Tallwhiteman, Chavez, Posey, Tallbull, Littlebird, Wilson, LittleBear, Littlewhiteman, Whitedirt, Whiteman, Elkshoulder, Medicine Top, Harris, Medicine Bull, Wandering Medicine, Fisher, Rondeau, Sanchez, Bullcoming, Limberhand, Shoulderblade and Red Cherries.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews: Leroy, Bill, Floyd, Rose Dillard, Margaret, Georgia, Myron, Ivan, Ernie, Ruby, Pauline, Rosie Posey, Daniel, Thornton, John Chavez, Merlin, Milward, Meredith, Mildred, Joletta, Ardyth, Tallbull, James, Noreen Red Cherries, and Larry Littlebear. Please forgive us if we left anyone out but Howard’s family and extended family is a large one. You are in our thoughts and were in his regardless.
He was predeceased by; sisters Minnie and Opal and his brothers Louis, Matthew, Carl, and John.
A wake is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Mennonite Church in Lame Deer. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Mennonite Church in Lame Deer. Interment follows at the Alison Bixby Memorial Cemetery in Lame Deer.
